Whether we worry about 'burnout', or notice at times simply feelings of stress, it may be that as busy Health Care Professionals we find ourselves, at times, with too scarce opportunities for the 'meaning, well-being and self care' that Cole and Carlin mention above.
Mindfulness is not intended as the quick fix for this. It may not even be a slow 'fix' - if to fix means to apply a technique too rigidly. Rather mindfulness - and this website, is an invitation to explore very simple (but perhaps not easy) ideas and practices of how we might come back to what Ronald Epstein calls 'presence' in the midst of the complexities of work.
