On the following pages are a range of resources about mindfulness. Recognising that each of us have different 'ways in' to a topic like this, we have a range of 'doors' for you to try:
Please try any and all of these 'ways in' - in many ways as well as distinct approaches to mindfulness there are tremendous areas of overlap - and you can go through more than one door at once.
- Scientific studies on Mindfulness - including links to information about Jon Kabat Zinn and research into the currently popular '8 week' model of Mindfulness ( and which is in the NICE guidelines)
- Mindfulness and Spirituality - while you most certainly don't have to be religiously minded to appreciate mindfulness, for some of us, traditions such as Buddhism or Contemplative Christianity can speak to us in ways that still feel relevant in contemporary life.
- Mindfulness and Artistic expression: sometimes we may find the sparse beauty of poetry or the wordless arts (such as photography) enrich our felt sense of space and stillness.
